What this calculator offers
A chart is a traditional framework for reflection, not a fixed verdict. Start with its four pillars, then read each element in relation to the whole.
Year, month, day and hour pillars each pair a Heavenly Stem with an Earthly Branch. Together they form the basic structure of a BaZi chart. The birth-time input is converted to Beijing time for this calculation.
The Heavenly Stem of the day pillar is called the Day Master. It is a reference point used in traditional readings to describe how the other chart elements relate to the person. It is not a complete personality label on its own.
Wood, Fire, Earth, Metal and Water describe relationships within the chart. Their counts are only a starting point; seasonal strength, position and interactions matter too. A simple element count should not be treated as a prescription.
Luck cycles and annual pillars are traditional ways to discuss changing time periods. They can offer prompts for reflection, but they do not establish that a particular event will happen or replace practical judgment.
It converts a birth date and time into the Four Pillars used in BaZi, a traditional Chinese system also called Four Pillars of Destiny.
BaZi and Paht Chee are names for the same Four Pillars tradition. Four Pillars of Destiny is its common English name. Saju is the Korean tradition that shares historical roots and related concepts, with its own cultural practice.
Enter the birth year, month, day, hour, minute, gender and the UTC offset that applied at the birthplace on that date. Longitude is optional.
No. Select the historical UTC offset for the birthplace and birth date yourself. Daylight-saving rules have changed over time and are not detected automatically.
When supplied, longitude applies a time adjustment of four minutes per degree relative to 120°E. This is a longitude-based true-solar-time correction; it does not calculate the equation of time.
The chart calculation and its interpretation are different things. AI can help explain traditional terms, but its reading is not a verified prediction and may omit context. Use it as cultural reference, not as professional advice.
This tool first calculates a structured Four Pillars chart using a dedicated calendar process, then offers topic-based interpretation. A general chatbot may not reliably calculate calendar boundaries or time-zone details.
Use the closest documented time only if you have a reasonable source. Without a reliable hour, the hour pillar may be wrong; avoid treating a guessed time as a precise chart.
